Funeral Services for Mr. Billy Ralph Watts, age 80 of Lineville, will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jimmy Brand and Rev. Travis Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Watts passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Grandview Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Clay County, and in his early life worked several years in the cotton mills and rubber plants. He was a hardworking man, often pulp wooding to provide for his family. Mr. Watts worked for 30 years at Wellborn Cabinets as a lumber grader, and installed hinges on doors. Mr. Watts also had a fully stocked garden every year, growing all kinds of vegetables, and helped with canning with his wife. When Mr. Watts wasn’t at work, working was his hobby. He raised and rode horses, split firewood, and enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was an honest man, loving and caring Father, and loved reading his Bible. He was attending Calvary Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Watts is survived by two daughters: Connie Lovell (Wayne) and Jessica Nash (Geoff), both of Lineville; three sons: Matthew Watts (Linda) of Wadley, Gerald Watts (Amanda) of Lineville, and Adam Watts (Tammy) of Ashland; 14 grandchildren: Angel Lovell, Bryan Lovell, Raven Lovell, Jon Lovell, Kiran Lovell, Dylon Watts, Stacey Strickland, Eric Watts Ragen, Kayla Watts, Payton Watts, Andrea Watts, Nicholas Watts, Skylar Watts, and Sarah Watts; 14 great-grandchildren and other extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Marshall and Nettie Hallman Watts, and his wife, Patricia Watts.
Active Pallbearers will be Matthew Watts, Adam Watts, Nicholas Watts, Payton Watts, Bryan Lovell, Jon Lovell, Geoff Nash, Eric Watts Ragen, Blake Strickland, and Toby Conville.
His visitation will take place on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
