Funeral service for Mr. Billy Price, 78, Winona, Texas is scheduled for 12:00 P.M., Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Greater Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph E. Caraway, officiating and Rev. Efrem A. Collins, eulogist.
Burial will be in Hopewell Community Cemetery under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.
Mr. Price died December 4, 2015 at his residence.
He was born February 3, 1937 in Winona, Texas. He graduated from Winona Industrial School. Mr. Price was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Hopewell Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the male chorus, senior choir, men’s Sunday School class, brotherhood, board of trustees, and OETBA Laymen where he served as the devotional leader. He was faithful to the midweek service at his church. He retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Co.
He was preceded in death by parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife Betty Joyce Price, Winona, Texas; 4 sons: Michael Hackett, Michael Herbert, Verlin Herbert all of Tyler, Roderick Price, Arlington; 2 daughters: Regina Edwards-Williams, Tyler, Cheryl Horne, Huntsville, Alabama; 1 brother: Paul Price, Tyler; 5 sisters: Annie Lou Jones, Patricia Cooper, Patsy Hawkins, Margie Garrett, and Georgia Moore all of Winona; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
