Billy Joe Stewart, 84, of Madison, passed away Saturday. Mr. Stewart worked at Rohm and Hass, and retired from Dunlop/Goodyear. He loved his family and his church, Asbury United Methodist, of which he was a charter member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Grace Stewart, three brothers, and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Anna Stewart; daughter, Kathy Stewart Fanning and husband, Myron; son, Mark Stewart; grandchildren, Hailey and Hunter Fanning and Reed and Sydney Stewart; and niece, Debbie Johnson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Asbury United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at the church with Dr. Alan Weatherly and Dr. Tommy Grey officiating. Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery.
