Funeral service for Billy Joe Sherrill, age 83, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, November 18, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sherrill, who died Friday, November 13, 2020, at Cullman Regional Medical Center, was born September 15, 1937, in Lawrence County to Lawrence Samuel Sherrill and Ruby Woods Sherrill. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters. Mr. Sherrill was a pipe insulator with Local 78.
He is survived by four daughters, Debra Sherrill-Curington of Decatur, Betty Cobb of Hartselle, Tammy Fielder of Cullman, and Melissa Morgan (John) of Hartselle; one brother, Jackie Sherrill (Jenny) of Town Creek; five sisters, Linda Davis of Danville, Jeanette Oliver of Hillsboro, Brenda Hagood (Buddy) of Moulton, Shirley Smith of Caddo, and Diane Allen (Billy) of Decatur; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
