Funeral Service for Billy Joe “Bill” Ray, age 83 of Vinemont, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Richard Richie officiating; interment in Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ray passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Cullman Regional. He was born November 3, 1939, to Monroe C. Ray and Thelma Dean Ray.
He was an educator at West Point High School, Vinemont High School, and Wallace State Community College, and also drove a school bus before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Ray; grandson, Matthew Ray; and brothers, Harry Ray and Wayne Ray.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Sue Ray; sons, Larry (Kelly) Ray and Jeffrey (Angela) Ray; daughter, Janice Ray; daughter-in-law, Julie Ray; grandchildren, Madison Ray, Tyler (Jordan) Ray, Jordan Ray, Emma Ray, Landon Ray, Dalton Ray, and Aubrey Ray; and a host of family and friends.
