Billy James “Bill” Parrish, 83, of Muscle Shoals, passed away June 3, 2014.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 2014, from noon-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel, with funeral services to begin at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Greg Beasley officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rube and Charlsie Parrish, and sister, Jean Edgil.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Gargis Parrish;
children, Stephanie Lou Britnell (Gene), Eva Shelaine Albert (Joe), and Matthew Parrish (Samantha);
stepchildren, Barbara Devaney (Raymond), Ricky Gargis (Jane), Roger Gargis (Jan), and John Gargis (Anita);
sister, Joanne Wood; brothers, Jimmy Parrish (Stacy) and Tony Parrish (Jennifer);
several grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be The Jerry McGee Sunday School Class.
Mr. Parrish was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church,
a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean War, former member of the Muscle Shoals City Council, and retired as a Muscle Shoals police officer.
