Billy Hugo Drake, age 85 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 11:00AM on Wednesday, February 10th, with Bro. Kevin Williams officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham with Nat Drake, Brad Galbreath, Ben Binkley, Michael Douglas, Ezra Binkley, and Jerry Drake serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Drake and Randy Chamberlain.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 9th from 4:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the hour of service at 11:00AM.
Mr. Drake was born on August 23rd, 1935 in Robertson County, Tennessee to the late R.D. and Minnie James Drake. He was a tobacco farmer and loved square dancing, Bluegrass music festivals, and attending NASCAR races. He dearly loved his family and grandchildren and was a member of Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Charles E. Drake; and sister, Viola Drake Chamberlain.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Joyce Drake; son, Billy “Wade” (Tish) Drake; and grandchildren, Lacey (Brad) Galbreath, and Nathaniel “Nat” Drake.
