Billy Harrison French, 83, of Sheffield, passed away March 11, 2013.
Visitation was Tuesday, March 12, from 6-8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2 Wednesday, March 13, in the chapel. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery. Officiating is Brother Jerry Crowden.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Faye French; parents, James and Elizabeth French; and brothers; and sisters.
Survivors include three sons, William R. Scott (Lillie), of Tuscumbia,
Dale “Rose” Cantrell, of Florence, and Travis E. Snipes (Cindy), of Tuscumbia;
daughters, Kim McCoy (Thomas), Cissy Grisby, both of Florence, Micki Oertel (David), of Fla., and Lizabeth Snipes Ezekiel, of Sheffield;
brother-in-law, Hershel Cantrell, of Muscle Shoals;
grandchildren, Amanda Cantrell, Randy Scott, Jonathan Snipes, Greg Shane Ezekiel, Ashley Waldrep, Heather Scott and Keith Cantrell;
great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Waldrep, Braden Waldrep, Jaden Scott and Brylee Dickerson;
many nieces; and nephews.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. French served in the United States Navy.
