Mr. Billy Gray Lawrence, age 90 of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Lawrence was born February 2, 1929, to the late Fred and Hattie Lawrence. He served in the U.S. Army and also served in WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Lawrence was a home repair maintenance worker and was a member of the Lamar Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Frankie Hawkins, Jessie Stanley, Mary Curry, Martha Williams, and twin sister Lily Crawford; and his brothers, Price Lawrence, Leo Lawrence, Harvey Lawrence, Max Lawrence, Sidney Lawrence.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with David Maxon officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday 2:00-3:00 prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Lawrence, Scott Lawrence, Dakota Rogers, Justin Rogers, W.F. “Fred” Lawrence, and Fred Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Lawrence; his four children, B.J. (Theresa) Lawrence, Carl (Sheila) Lawrence, Scotty (Kathy) Lawrence, and Jody (Sam) Rogers; 10 grandchildren, Genea Lawrence, Jordyn (Jay) Wheeler, Ryan Lawrence, Erin (Justin) Thomas, Scott Lawrence, Bruce Williams, Benji (Michelle) Williams, Dakota Rogers, Autumn Rogers, and Will Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Carlie Lawrence, Kenadee Lawrence, and Ryna Thomas.
