Billy Glen Harwell, age 84, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Billy was born January 23, 1942, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Robert and Mary Doggett Harwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Ronnie Harwell.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy Street Harwell; son Troy (Samantha) Harwell of Lewisburg; granddaughter, Aleigha Harwell.
He was a devoted husband, father, family member, friend, and neighbor whose life was marked by steady work, faithful service, and quiet kindness. He worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for 20 years. After that, he continued serving his community as a bus driver for the Marshall County Board of Education for another 20 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era from 1966 to 1968. His service reflected the same sense of duty and commitment that he carried throughout his life. He was also a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where his presence, values, and example were a meaningful part of the church family.
Outside of work and service, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed watching the University of Tennessee football and cheering on the Vols. He loved spending time at yard sales and flea markets, always looking for a good find and enjoying the conversations that came along the way. Those who knew him will remember his dependable nature, his love for family and community, and the many ways he touched lives through everyday kindness.
Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home and Crematory, 324 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm at London Funeral Home and Crematory with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Boykin, Jimmy King, Greg Donahue, David Gilbert, Alexander Stewart, Bryan Harwell, Roger Harwell, Foster Ingram, and Rodney Swearingen.
