Billy Gene Jones, age 78, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Russellville Hospital.

Bro. Billy had been preaching for over 30 years and was currently the pastor at Faith Assembly Church.  He had a heart of gold and wanted to save the world.  Even though he was known by Daddy, PaPa, PawPaw, and Pop, his favorite title was a Christian and Child of God.  He was considered to be the best paint and body man in this area, very knowledgeable, and loved to be in his shop tinkering with his cars.  He was a good family man, who loved his wife, his kids, and grandchildren. He loved being sneaky and a prankster to his family, and he was a wonderful friend, always willing to help anyone he could.   He leaves many wonderful memories for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Gladys (Wilson) Jones, and son, Gary Lee Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Bryant Jones; children, Candy Kirkpatrick, Ricky Jones (Wendy); adopted daughters, Faith and Cheyene; grandchildren, Billie & Trenton Hovater, Nikki & Jonathan Frizzell, Tyler & McKayla Jones, Donnie & Abby Jones, Lacey Brooke Jones; great-grandchildren, Zayden Hovater, Krimson Jones, Colson Godsey, Zak Godsey, Matallee Jones, Carson Jones, Connor Frizzell; sister of the heart, Kathy Hamby; and a host of friends.

The visitation will be 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 03, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Johnny Smith officiating the service.  Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in East Franklin Community.

The pallbearers will be Josh Tabbert, Tyler Jones, Donnie Jones, William Nickelson, Donald Godsey, and Trenton Hovater.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the First Responders and EMTs with Phil Campbell Rescue, as well as to the nurses and staff of Russellville Hospital ICU for the love and care shown to our family.
