Mr. Billy Eugene Lawson, 82, of Florence passed away on May 12, 2015. He retired as a machinist and was a member of Machinist Lodge 1189 and Masonic Lodge 402. He attended Pisgah Methodist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Pisgah cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Mike Nash.
Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Dessie Skipworth Lawson ; Parents, Clara Jones Lawson and Robert William Lawson both of Florence, AL; brothers, Elmer Lawson, Ellis Lawson, Robert Lawson, Jack Lawson, and Allen “Pete” Lawson; sisters, Velma Vessell and Dorothy Ezekiel.
Survivors include her daughters; Sandra Dereise Jordan and Norma Brotherton; grandchildren, Amanda (Cliff) Davis and Sean W. Brotherton.
Active pallbearers will be Sean Brotherton, Patrick Fulmer, Harold Sigle, James Garner, Ken Bourn and Brandon Lawson.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. John Scarborough, Dr. Rao Boorgu and Dr. Felix Morris and Dr. Robert Webb.
