Billy Dowden, age 68, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, and retired from Dura Automotive Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest “Shorty” and Mary Ethel Abernathy Dowden; two brothers, Robert Dowden and Ernest Dowden; and one sister, Shirley Hyde.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at John Lay Cemetery at 11:00 AM Friday, January 24, 2014, with Phillip Jaco officiating. Family suggests memorials be made to American Cancer Society.
