Billy Clyde Thomas, age 89, passed away at his home on the night of May 15, 2023. He was the son of Cale Brad “CB” Thomas and Bretha L. Phillips Thomas. He had one brother “CB” Thomas, Jr. deceased. Bill was married to Eunice Wright Thomas 70 years and was the father of two sons, Mark (Paula) Thomas and Mike Thomas. “Pop” was grandfather to four grandchildren, Alaina Michele Thomas Gutierrez, Caleb Michael Thomas, Marin Elizabeth Jane Thomas and Amelia Rose Lynn Thomas. There are two great grandchildren, Bennett Daniel and Penelope Grace Gutierrez.
Billy grew up in Scottsboro, married and joined the United States Navy. After his time was up he moved to Birmingham, Al where he worked for American Olean Tile Company and Hayes Aircraft. He retired in 1995 and returned to Scottsboro. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended services with the Swearengin congregation.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, shooting any outdoor activity and especially yard work. He passed his time being of service to his neighbors. He was much loved in his community and will be missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 18th, 2 -3 pm, at the Scottsboro Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Scottsboro Funeral Home. The burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery.
