Billie Sherrell McConnell, age 86, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on November 5, 2026. He was born on March 25, 1940, to Berry Sehon and Eunice Turner Williams McConnell.
Sherrell will be remembered for his pure heart, love for the Lord and others, and devotion to his family. Sherrell married Marion Ruth Brown in 1960, and together they had three daughters, Melanie Wiles (husband Mike), Michelle Pafford (husband Calvin), and Melissa McConnell (husband Stephen Goss). Marion preceded Sherrell in death, and he found love again and married Janice Brown Gray in 2015. Sherrell is survived by his wife, Jan, his three daughters, sister Phyllis Boatright (husband Larry), nephew Michael Boatright, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sherrell was a member of the East Brainerd Church of Christ. He was also a retired agent of State Farm Insurance.
Visitation in Chattanooga, TN, will be Saturday, November 7, 2026, from noon until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Rd., Chattanooga, TN.
On Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Church Street Church of Christ in Lewisburg, TN, there will be visitation from 2:00 pm until a short memorial service at 3:00 pm, followed by a family burial at Fox Wheatley Cemetery. London Funeral Home is in charge of those arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to East Brainerd Church of Christ.
