Billie Lee Perkins Jones, age 95 entered eternal rest on January 30, 2023, in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Billie was born on November 3, 1927, in Hillsboro, Tennessee to the late Thomas Nathaniel Perkins and Jessie Ikeard-Perkins-Davis. She later moved to a farm in Cowan, Tennessee, where she and her siblings worked as sharecroppers with their father. She was educated in the Franklin County School System and in the Drakesboro City School System in Kentucky. She confessed hope in Christ and joined the Burning Bush Original Church of God in Belvidere, Tennessee at an early age. Later she moved to Decherd, Tennessee, and joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother Board for many years. She was employed by A.R.A food service for several years. She later moved to Arnold Engineering and Development Center where she worked as a custodian and eventually retired. She has seven siblings who preceded her in death: Oscar Thomas Perkins of Winchester, Tennessee, Georgia Dale Cooksey of Louisville, Kentucky, Walsa Dean Sheffield, Eugene Perkins and Howard Winton all of Nashville, Tennessee, Jessie M. Perkins of Youngstown, Ohio, and John Wayne Davis of Tullahoma, Tennessee. In addition, to her parents and siblings, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Wilson Jones. They raised two sons, Ernest Wayne Jones and Wilson Warren Jones. Survivors who will always cherish her memory includes, her two devoted sons, Reverend Ernest Wayne (Annie) Jones of Cowan, Tennessee and Wilson Warren Jones of Meridianville, Alabama; two daughters, Laura Jean Macklin and Linda (James) Allen both of Cleveland, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Dr. Myron W. (Laura) Jones, Carlotta (William) Arnold, Heather (Sinclair) Bennett, James Dyshawn (Teri) Allen, Latrece (Sedrick) West, Tiffany Macklin and Keshia A. Allen; eleven great-grandchildren, Kyle Bennett, Madison Brown Bennett, Sinclair A. Bennett, Hannah Bennett, Kaleb Bennett, Julianna R. Jones, Elizabeth I. Jones, Solomon M. Jones, James D. Allen II, Tyrsten Allen, Mason Skullark; one great-grandchild, Jaya Allen; sister-in-law, Barbara (Gordon) Nichols; brothers-in-law, Walter (Charlene) Jones, Sammy (Truthia) Jones all of Saginaw, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances. Billie was blessed with longevity. She will be sorely missed by those who loved her dearly. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
