Mrs. Billie Jo Slaten, age 87, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023, at her residence. She was born on April 23, 1936, to the late Leon and Ruby Oliver. Billie is survived by her loving daughter, Marsha Hampton; sisters, Ida (Bud) Strickland and Patsy McCoy; grandchild, Crystal (Jason) Trussell, and her great-grandchildren, Carter Williams, Seth (Sidney) Trussell, and Jaylee (Jay) Silas. Her departure leaves a void that will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In addition to her parents, Billie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Slaten, and her brother, Sonny Oliver.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Billie Jo Slaten will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. The family will be available to receive friends prior to the service, starting at 1:00 pm. The officiating services will be conducted by Bro. Ronny Murdock, offering words of comfort and reflection.
Following the service, family and friends will come together to accompany Mrs. Slaten to her final resting place at Memory Hill Cemetery in Albertville, Alabama. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember the joy, love, and laughter that Billie brought into our lives.
