Billie Elkins passed away Saturday after a courageous two year battle with ALS. Born in Eureka, KS to Ed and Lillie Call, she moved to Huntsville in 1961 with her beloved husband of more than 60 years, Don Elkins. She was the owner of a custom alteration business in her home for more than 50 years. Her customers became her lifelong friends and she saw many generations grow up. Billie’s motto was ‘always eat dessert first’, why fill up on regular food.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; and brothers, Art and Roy Call. Survivors include daughter, Joni East and husband, Wayne; granddaughter, Lori; sister, Sheri Venters (Bill); and many nieces and a nephew.

A private family service will be held at the Call family cemetery in Eureka, KS.

Memorials may be made to the needy children of Appalachia, Mission of Hope Ministry. (missionofhope.org)
