Funeral service for Bill Copeland, 78, of Hartselle will be Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church with Brother Jack Redfearn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Copeland died Monday, June 15, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born July 11, 1936, in Morgan County to Clarence Collier Copeland and Gladys Simmons Knighten. Mr. Copeland was retired from the Air Force Reserve. He was an avid sports fan with his favorites being Braves baseball and Alabama football. He once delivered a baby while in the Air Force. He was a High Voltage Electrician at Saginaw (Delphi) prior to retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepmom, Katherine Copeland.
Survivors include his wife, Carmen Copeland; one son, Billy Wayne Copeland (Rose) of Decatur; two daughters, Donna J. McDaniel (Mark) of Hampton Cove and Tanya K. Hamilton (Jay) of Somerville; four stepsons, Paul A. Haskins (Lori) of North Carolina, Steven D. Haskins (Misty) of Hartselle, Michael D. Haskins (Emilee) of Virginia and Christopher M. Haskins (Amanda) of Hartselle; four brothers, James E. Copeland and Robert E Copeland, both of Hartselle, Jimmy W. Copeland of Trussville and R. Shawn Copeland of Birmingham; two sisters, Reba Nell Decker and Carolyn Wilder, both of Gadsden; 20 grandchildren
