Beverly Jennings Barton, age 64, of Madison, passed away Jan. 17, 2020 surrounded by her family. Beverly was a gentle soul with a serving heart. Her greatest love was God and her family. She graduated from Auburn University in 1977 with a degree in Speech Pathology. During her time at Auburn, she played the flute in the marching band and met the love of her life and best friend. She further went on to obtain her Masters Degree at Alabama A&M. She dedicated her career as a Speech Pathologist for the Madison County Schools until her retirement in 2018.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Q. Barton Jr.; daughters, Sarah L. Barton, and Melissa G. Barton (Kevin McCormick); son, Jacob E. Barton (Chancey); grandchildren, Abigail G. Barton, Majors E. McCormick, and Lewis R. Barton; sisters, Anne Jennings (Larry Cole), and Judy Odom (Tom); brothers, Benjamin Jennings and Christopher Cavett; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin R. Jennings and mother, Carolyn F. Jennings.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Berryhill Funeral Home on January 22, with vistation at 12:00 and service following at 2:00, followed by a graveside service at Maple Hill Cemetery.
