Obituary of Beverly Evans Moss Beverly Evans Moss, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and accomplished professional, passed away on January 12, 2024, in Portland, Oregon. She was 77 years old.

Beverly was born on April 30, 1946, in Decatur, Alabama, and later pursued her higher education at Auburn University, where she graduated with a degree in Interior Design in 1968. Her creative talents and eye for detail would shape her future career and personal endeavors.

Throughout her life, Beverly made significant contributions to her field. She worked for Colonial Williamsburg and BOORA architects, leaving a lasting impact on the architectural landscape. In recognition of her exceptional achievements, she was honored as one of the 1994 Women of Distinction in Architecture/Design. Beverly’s passion for design extended beyond her professional life, as she served as a board member for the Friends of Multnomah County Library, Peninsula Montessori School, and Ainsworth After School Care.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Beverly was a natural beauty and known for her warm and engaging personality. She was well-read and quick-witted, embodying the qualities of a true southern lady. Her integrity and role-modeling nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her. A devoted mother for her sons, Jason and Cheney, and a loving partner for her husband, Claude Moss. Her six grandchildren, Michael, William, Emily, Lucas, Alex, and Charlie were a source of joy in her life. She leaves behind her only and beloved sister, Yvonne.

In her leisure time, Beverly found solace in her hobbies. She had a deep love for gardening and enjoyed touring gardens worldwide as well as creating her own. Beverly always had a great story to tell gained form her love of reading and joy of books. Beverly’s culinary skills were renowned, as she delighted in cooking meals that brought people together.

To honor Beverly’s memory, a private cremation ceremony was held, and her remains were interred at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Multnomah County Library Foundation, an organization that was close to Beverly’s heart.

Beverly Evans Moss will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy as a remarkable woman, dedicated professional, and loving individual will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
