Beverly Deloris Mitchell Howard, age 76, of Lutts, TN, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. She was born on July 12, 1949, the daughter of the late S.J. Sr. and Cleo Berry Mitchell. On August 21, 1971, Beverly found her partner in life, Daniel Neil Howard, and together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and joy.
Beverly lived and worked in Indiana from 1974 until 2018 then she retired and moved back to her hometown of Lutt, TN.
Beverly’s professional journey was marked by dedication and resilience. She first starting working at the South Bend Tribune in Southbend, IN, before moving on to the State Capital office in Austin, TX. Her talents led her to Skyline Mobile Homes in Elkhart, IN, and ultimately, she spent 32 years at Zimmerman Industrial Piping in Mishawaka, IN, where she retired having made countless friends and lasting contributions. Beverly was also a proud member of the Michiana Women in Construction.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Beverly was a vibrant soul with a passion for life. She delighted in floral gardening and had a special talent for decorating, particularly during the festive Christmas season. Antiquing and collecting purses and glassware brought her joy, while her stylishness—complete with meticulously done nails and sparkling jewelry—was a reflection of her spirited personality.
It was the moments spent with her family especially her grandchildren that she cherished most. Whether it was during cousins gatherings or cozy evenings with loved ones, Beverly’s warmth and kindness created a tapestry of beautiful memories that will forever be held close in their hearts. Additionally, Beverly loved Coco the cat and Molly the miniature donkey.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Neil Howard of Lutts, TN; daughters, Melissa Anne Sipress (Justin) of Fort Wayne, IN, and Andrea Jean Howard of Florence, AL; sister, Sheila Rose Boehnlein of Osceola, IN; brother, S.J. Mitchell Jr (Mary) of Bedford, TX; grandchildren, Caleb James Sipress, Isabelle Jean Sipress, and Isaac Daniel Sipress; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, S.J. Sr. and Cleo Berry Mitchell; and brother, Sherry Rolen Mitchell.
