There can often be many things to remind us of the ones we’ve lost. With the passing of Beverly Ann Brewer McCranie on May 4, 2023, the things that come to mind all have one thing in common: they sparkle. As much as Beverly loved a great piece of sparkly costume jewelry, she loved most putting that jewelry on someone she loved and telling them how beautiful they looked wearing it. Then she would not let you leave without it. This was her essence and how I’m certain many will remember her.
What Beverly wanted most in life was to be a good mother. Her children and grandchildren would say she surpassed that goal; indeed, she was exceptional. She was an outstanding cook and loved to prepare meals for her friends and family, especially during the holidays. She put the needs of her family above her own, not out of obligation, but rather from an abundance of love.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mildred Brewer, husband of 51 years, George Thomas Monroe McCranie, and her beloved son, Matthew Monroe McCranie. She is survived by sisters, Sandra Rice and Leslie Brewer; son, Scott McCranie; daughter, Julie McCranie; daughter-in-law, Dana Bierley; and two grandchildren, Aybra and Thomas McCranie.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 12th at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the funeral immediately following in the chapel. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
