Bev Durell Rutland, 73, died August 27, 2013 at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born January 29, 1940 in Colbert County Alabama and a resident of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He attended Sheffield High School, was a member of the National Guard, and retired from TVA and a member of Teamsters Local 402 Retirees. He was member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adle & Dennis Pinkston and G. N. Rutland.
Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Evon Rutland; children, Myran & Jerry Murdock and Paige & Sammy Archer; grandchildren, Tiffany Murdock Pelle & Fred Pelle, Tyler Murdock, Chelsea Murdock and step grandson, Sammy Archer, Jr. He is also survived by his stepmother, Flodie Rutland, and three sisters, Brenda, Landra and Rhonda plus a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brian Lindsey, James Weems, Michael Bullion, Rodney Stone, Jason Stone, Jeremy Stone, Jack Cochran and Johnny Howard. Honorary pallbearers and special friends Witt Harrison and Avery Michael.
Special thanks to Dr. Jerry Williams, Dr. Faizullah Syed, Faculty and Staff of UAB Cardiac Unit, Amedisys Hospice and special caregivers, Ann Massey, Courtney Abston, April Knight and Ashley Glover.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the funeral home Chapel with Bro. Ted Vafeas and Bro. Jeff Eddie officiating. Burial will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia.
