Betty Young passed away the evening of Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Betty was born in Boaz Alabama to Ruby Jo and Harold Nelson Young. She was raised in Boaz by her grandmother, Lillie Temple Young, after the untimely passing of her mother. She graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a bachelor’s degree in art in 1971.
Betty was a lifelong animal lover and was always surrounded by cats and dogs, all of which were rescue or strays. She supported and worked with the Greater Huntsville Animal Shelter.
Betty is survived by her brother, James Young and wife, Michelle Young of New York City; husband of 35 years, Lester M. Ross, Jr.; as well as dog, Lucy and cat, Tozan.
