Funeral service for Betty Sue Terry Morris, 76, of Courtland will be Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev R.C. Borden officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Mrs. Betty Sue Morris, died peacefully surrounded by family and friends Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Main. She was born June 11, 1938, in Wheeler Alabama to the late Floyd and Minnie Letson Terry. She was also preceded in death by her husband Percy Morris.
Survivors include three sons, Ricky Morris (Becky), Ralph Morris (Deborah) both of Courtland, Roger Morris (Arlena) of Hillsboro; three brothers, Charles Terry (Faye) of Claxton, GA, Stanley Terry of Parchment, MI, Ralph Terry of Trinty; seven grandchildren, Kasi, Josh, Caroline, Justin, Michael, Hunter, Emily and their spouses (Bradley, Kelli, Tyler, Kelley, Britney, Logan); five great-grandchildren, Camoryn, Connor, Judson, Huntleigh and Finley; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Kylie Proctor and several nieces and nephews who she adored.
Mrs. Morris was an active member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church, a former grocery store owner at Wheeler and formerly employed at Citizens Bank of Courtland.
Pallbearers will be Marlon Morris, Mitchell Morris, Dexter Allen, Elliott Parker, Buddy Hill, Scottie Hill, Theo Gibson and Dan Roberts.
At Sue’s request, in lieu of flowers, she wanted memorials made to St. Jude Tribute Program P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
