Betty Sue Hand McGuireBetty Sue McGuire, age 81, of Russellville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 31, 2025, at her residence.
Sue graduated from Deshler High School and attended Ray’s Beauty School. She had her own beauty shop for several years, worked at Lee’s, and then worked for almost 22 years at Walmart. She was happier spending time outside picking blackberries, working with her cows, and loved cutting her grass. She loved watching hummingbirds and loved to quilt. Sue always made you feel welcome in her house and never met a stranger.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Michael McGuire; grandson, Cody McGuire (Myranda), Ashley Berry; great-grandchildren, Cecilia Rowbottom, Colton & Brantlee Moore, Tyler Clayton, Jarrett Pace; sister, Carolyn (Dennis) Clark; sister of the heart, Loraine Olive; nieces & nephews, David & Donna Clark, Susan & Randy Holt, Rodney & Amy Borden, Regina & Jr. Norred; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Jr. McGuire; parents, Luther & Mattie Lou Hand; and brother, Richard Hand
The visitation will 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 08, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ricky Zahnd officiating the service. The burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in the Ligon Springs Community.
The pallbearers will be Cody McGuire, Adam Evans, Isaac Winstead, Stohne Winstead. Casey Bolton, Will Trapp, and Sergio Malacara.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Bro. Wade Wallace and Calvary Baptist Church for your visits and prayers.
