Betty Sue Carruth Towers Betty Sue Carruth Towers, age 93, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 21, 1932, in Cherokee County, Alabama, to the late T.F. and Jo Carruth. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Vance Towers, Sr.; son-in-law, Norman Spear; grandson, Vance Hodges.

She is survived by her children, Susan Rothberger (Earl), Sherrie Spear, Vance Towers (Renae), and David Towers (Lisa); eleven grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her unwavering love and presence.

A longtime member of First Methodist Church of Albertville, Betty Sue’s faith and service were the foundation of her life. She dedicated her career to education as a devoted elementary school teacher, leaving a lasting impact on countless young lives.
Betty Sue found joy in many pursuits. She was an avid bridge player, a master puzzle solver, and a beloved baker—especially remembered for her famous caramel cake. She delighted in hosting gatherings for her friends and family, always making others feel welcomed and cherished. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her with compassion, resilience, and grace.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at First Methodist Church of Albertville. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Methodist Church of Albertville or Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home directing.
