Betty Niel Johnson, 92, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday at her residence at Magnolia Trace Retirement Community in Huntsville. Betty was born in Nashville, TN, and attended Vanderbilt University. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Huntsville for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy M. Niel and Alice M. Niel, brother, Roy M. Niel, Jr., and her husband, James R. Johnson. Survivors include daughters, Joanne Johnson (Jerry) of Huntsville, and Alice A. Johnson of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Downtown Rescue Mission of Huntsville.
