Betty Marie Smith, 90, of Tuscumbia, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 19, 2018. Her family will receive friends Thursday, June 21, 2018 from noon to 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. There will be a funeral service following at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Darrell Pace officiating.
Ms. Smith was a native of Franklin County and long-time resident of Tuscumbia. She was a loving and devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a teacher at Headstart in Tuscumbia and a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscumbia.
Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Hillard D. Smith; son, Keith Smith; and parents, Daniel and Inez Seal.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Smith Jeffreys (Wayne) of Tuscumbia and Wanda Smith Mitchell (Dale) of Tupelo; daughter-in-law, Paula Kelley (Mike) of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Michael Jeffreys (Monica), Chris Smith (April), Noel Smith, Leslie Norris (Kirk), Taylor Mitchell (Amanda) and Laura Beth Erwin (Hunter Richardson and his daughter, Maddi); and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Anna Jeffreys, Daniel, Nathan, Mary-Sophia and Rachel Smith, Braden and Ryder Erwin, and Brady and Tyler Norris.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church, Tuscumbia. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
