Betty Waddle Garrison Betty Mae Waddle Garrison, 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Riverside Senior Living in Decatur, Alabama. She was born July 6, 1935, in Pickens County, Alabama, to Alvin Webbster and Flora Mae Akers Waddle. She went to Itawamba Junior College and then to Florence State Teacher’s College, where she received her bachelor’s degree. She later obtained her master’s degree from the University of Mississippi. She was retired from the Itawamba County School District, where she was an educator for more than 40 years. She moved to Decatur, Alabama in 2005. She was a former member of the I.J.C. Alumni board and Phi Theta Kappa. She was a member of the Fulton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and was an avid conversationalist.

Services will be at noon on Saturday, March 9, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Randy Spencer and Bro. Roger Akers officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include one daughter, Tina Garrison Kirby (Johnny) of Decatur, AL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie N. Garrison; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Jerome Bain, Keith Bain, Chip Prestage, Johnny Kirby, Michael Barnes, and Buddy Ratliff.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959.
