Betty Mae Mills, age 85, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at her residence in Phil Campbell.

Betty was born on November 10, 1935 in Spruce Pine to Edward Jackson King & Lona Roberts Pounders. She was a member of Spruce Pine Church of Christ and a member of the Eastern Star. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her children, Pat Mills, Larry Mills; grandson, Kelvin Baker; great-granddaughter, Celia Ann; parents, Edward Jackson King & Lona Roberts Pounders; sisters, Jane, Stella, Barbara; and infant brother, EJ.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 71 years, J.B. Mills; children, Donna Johnson (Melvin), Eddie Mills (Erica), Glenda Ergle (Rodney), Sherry O’Kelley (Hershel); grandchildren, Crystal Lohenis (Bill), Kim Wilson (Kenny), Amy Rupley (George), Kevin Johnson, Eric Mills, Payton Mills, Jonathan Mills, Mayson Mills, Roxanne Hornyak, Curtis Baker (Tiffany), Joshua Baker (Tiffany), Brandon Hallman (Candace), Toni Hester (Jason), Sheldon Ergle, Brandy Baker (Kevin), Heather Aldridge (Gary), Shane Baker (Emily), Jessica Kirby (Zack); 32 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces & nephews.

The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2021 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Benjamin Phillips officiating the service. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Kevin Johnson, Curtis Baker, Joshua Baker, Eric Mills, Shane Baker, and Jonathan Mills. The honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Trapp, Austen Baker, Sheldon Ergle, Brandon Hallman, Dawson O’Kelley, and Skylar Mitchell.

The family would like to offer a sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of North Alabama Hospice for your love and care with our mother.
