Betty Lou Thigpen Grossheim, 76, of Florence, AL, passed from this life surrounded by her family on September 3, 2015 after a brief illness. Mrs. Grossheim was a member of the Atlas Church of Christ.
She is survived by son Jeff Grossheim and wife Lisa; daughter Bridget Slaton and husband Mark; grandchildren Caraline and Caitlan Grossheim and Cody, Dylan, and Justin Slaton; brother Jacky Thigpen; sisters Lorean Pettus and Dorothy Vinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Clevie Davis Thigpen; brother Ralph Thigpen; and sisters Ruth Morrison and Juanita Williams.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at Atlas Church of Christ with Bro. Steve Shelton and Bro. Miles Stutts officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 10-11 AM before the service. Burial will be in Atlas Cemetery.
