Betty Lou Nelson, 78, of Florence, passed away Feb. 28, 2017. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Visitation will be today, Thursday, March 2, 2017 from noon to 2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Tim Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with church members and family only.
Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her parents, William and Tina Novem; brothers, C.W., Alvin and Hoyt Novem; and her son, Edward Douglas Ellis.
She is survived by her sons, Rickey, Gary and Kenny Barkley; daughters, Pam Hamner and Vickie Berry; grandchildren, Marshall Ellis, Jeremy Ellis, Shane Barkley, Kirk Barkley, Wesley Short, Dalton, McMullan Trey Barkley and Dakota Barkley; and stepgrandchildren, Daniel and Dylan Baker; and father of her children, Robert Leon Barkley.
Active pallbearers will be Gary Barkley, Kenny Barkley, Wesley Short, Dalton McMullan, Darren Borden and Jeff Berry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Barkley, Trey Barkley and Ira Woods.
