Funeral for Betty Lou Birdyshaw Cross, 80, of Courtland will be today, February 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scottie Letson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cross, who died Monday, February 2, 2015, at Huntsville Hospital, was born April 14, 1934, in Alabama to Gilbert Birdyshaw and Maggie Lena Peebles Birdyshaw. She retired as a clerk at Odell’s Grocery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Cross; her parents; grandson, Jerome Cross and great-granddaughter, Jada Cross.
Survivors include four sons, Ronnie Cross (Shirley) of Courtland, Donnie Cross and Willie Cross (Kim), both of Town Creek, and Doug Cross of Mississippi; four daughters, Judy Terry (Ray) of Trinity, Mary Thomas (Clayton) and Cindy Cross, both of Courtland, and Lenora James (Paul) of Hartselle; four brothers, Ussery Crisler (Marcella), Billy Crisler (Betty) and Greer Crisler (Judy), all of Town Creek, and Sherman Crisler (Joyce) of Tennessee; three sisters, Hazel Gray (Paul) of Muscle Shoals, Margie Brackin of Huntsville and Patricia Cleveland of Moulton; numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
