Betty “Long” Yarbrough – Obituary

Betty “Long” Yarbrough age 79, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016. Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Barrett Long will be officiating.
Mrs. Yarbrough is preceded in death by husband of 55 wonderful years, Leon Yarbrough, and parents, Floyd and Lema Long.
Survivors are son, Joey Yarbrough (Karen), of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; brother, Bill Long; sisters, Peggy Gunnin, Linda Clemons, and Sue Dake; and grandchildren, Hunter and Will Yarbrough.
Pallbearers are Hunter and Will Yarbrough, retired General Terry Dake, Hayward Gunnin, Glenn Hall, Roy Strickland, Rex Burleson, Wesley Kiser, Ty McConnell, and Mark Newman. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Blakenship, Will Blankenship, Chris George, Baine Garner, Coleman Garner, and Dr. Lenides Santos.
Betty had a passion for boating and cherished her many friends who lovingly referred to her as “Mama.”
Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
