Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Lockard, age 89, will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Gibson County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Lockard, formerly of Trenton, TN, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 20, 2024, at her son’s house in Ohio. She will be remembered for the love of her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her plants. She was always willing to dig up or give a cutting of a plant or flower in her yard to anyone that wanted one.
Mrs. Lockard was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Bessie (nee. Davidson) Hayes; her brothers, Ray, Harry, Junior, and Bob; her sister, Martha Denton; and her eldest son, Steve.
Mrs. Lockard is survived by her other two sons, Tony and Todd; nephews, Terry (Carol) Denton, Barry (Kathy) Denton, and Randy Hayes; nieces, Sandy Anthony) Patterson and Sheree Ward; grandchildren, Cody (Samantha) Lockard, Blake (Erica) Abercrombie, Sam (Kala) Barnett, Hunter Lockard, Seth Lockard, and Riley Lockard; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Lyric, Melody, Kinsley, Oakley, Hudson, and Emi.
Mrs. Lockard will also be remembered by Patty and Thomas Chandler who were always there for Betty to lend her a helping hand; Mariah and Mathis, “grandchildren” who she loved as much as any other; Ikkyu, who helped her son Todd take care of her; and many other friends that she considered family.
