Betty LaFern Morris, age 62, Haleyville, AL. passed away Sunday August 25, 2019 at Lakeland Community Hospital. She was a retired nurse, and attended the Freewill Baptist Church. Fern was very active in supporting our military and worked with the Shriners helping others. She was also a member of the local Eastern Stars.
Visitation is Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home-Haleyville. Funeral service is at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Roger Whitson and Michael Morris officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her brother, Tommy Morris; sister, Cindy Lawson; her deceased brother, John’s children, Buddy(wife Samantha) Morris and Brittany Morris; Tommy’s children, Dakota and Erin; Cindy’s children, Tanisha Cannada and Amme Talley; aunts and uncle, Quanita Whitson, Richard Jones and Madelyn Mitchell; several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Fern had no children of her own but mothered many in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fernwood and Betty Lenora Jones Morris; infant brother, Little Fernwood; brother, John Riley Morris; sister in law, Sonya Morris and nephew, William Mitchell Morris.
