Funeral service for Betty Joyce Turner Monk, age 83, of Decatur, will be Saturday, February 16, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Mrs. Monk, who died Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at NHC Healthcare Moulton, was born March 6, 1935, in Decatur, to Dolsie Turner and Dotha Bridges Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Joe Monk. Mrs. Monk worked as a clerical assistant at Parkway Medical Center.
She is survived by three sons, Greg Monk of Houston, TX, Gary Monk of Decatur, and Barry Monk of Tuscumbia; one daughter, Terri (Monk) Tinklepaugh of Tuscaloosa; two brothers, Jimmy Turner of Moulton, and Buddy Turner of Falkville; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
