Betty Joe Cross Smith, 81, of Ardmore, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in Pulaski, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Jim Erskine Cross and Mary Frances Baird Cross.
“Ms. Betty” as she was called by the children, enjoyed driving a school bus for Lincoln County, Tennessee School System for several years and was loved by the children. Former students still talk about the fun and exciting times they had riding “Miss Betty’s bus”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, Bobby Smith; brothers, Cecil Cross, James Cross, Maylon Cross, Thomas “Everett” Cross, J.C. Cross, and Kenneth Cross; sisters, Hilda Hall and Jean Patterson.
She is survived by her sister, Judy Cross Clem; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 PM in the chapel. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, Alabama.
