Betty Joan Thigpen Hipps, age 87, from Killen, AL passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025.
She was a devoted servant to all those around her, always placing the needs of others before her own. She loved to cook and clean, finding joy in caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home.
She spent much of her life farming and living on a farm, a way of life she embraced with hard work, dedication, and pride. Her strength, humility, and tireless work ethic were evident in everything she did.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Neal Hipps, and sisters, Joby Berry and Peggy Thigpen.
She is survived by her sister, Patsy Gooch (Larry); her daughters, Michelle Luking (Henry) and Jondra Settle (Vince); her granddaughters, Kris (Alexa) and Liz (Austin); her grandsons, Corey Settle and Michael Settle; and her great-grandson, Robert. She is also survived by extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
