Mrs. Betty Joan Slaton, age 73, of Arab, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mrs. Slaton was born on October 1, 1945 in Marshall County to Willie Edgar Ferguson & Edna Inez Perkins Ferguson. Mrs. Slaton enjoyed attending church, spending time with her grandkids, tending to the garden and shopping.
Mrs. Slaton was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Lamar Slaton; daughter & son-in-law, Michelle Morrow & Mark; grandchildren, Clay Morrow, Caleigh Morrow, Jack Slaton, Nora Slaton; brother, Gordon Walls; sister, Connie Jones. Preceded in death by her parents, Willie Edgar Ferguson & Edna Inez Perkins Ferguson.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Bro. Glen Stewart & Bro. Roger Cox, officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Kerry Walls, Phillip Walls, Brandon Thomas, Billy Griffin, Don Moore, Stoney Gresham.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to New Covenant Baptist Church.
