Betty Joan Craig age 70 of Athens, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Craig was born August 11, 1943 in Limestone County, AL to Thomas Hazel Gatlin and Claudia Oceal Shelton Gatlin.
Services will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014 3:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Steve Spray and Philip Richards officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Craig was a member of The Church of Christ, and retired from G.E. in Decatur, AL.
Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hazel and Claudia Oceal Gatlin; son, Tim A. Craig; grandson, Austin Craig Thomas; two sisters, Retha Arra and and Edith Eubanks.
Survived by her husband, Allen B. Craig of Athens; three daughters, Anita Taylor and husband, Steve of Decatur, AL, Edwina Craig and Lisa Thomas both of Athens; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lenna Ruth Bates of Athens, AL and Barbara Adams of Lester, AL; one brother, Tommy Gatlin and wife, Charlotte of Lester, AL; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Ramsey, Robert Coats, Allen Thomas, Cody Arra, Dennis Mitchell and Charles Craig.
