With regret and sadness we announce the death of our beloved, wife, mother and daughter, Betty Jean West. Betty passed away, at the age of 53, at her residence in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama on Tuesday October 1, 2024. She was born December 13, 1970 in Marshall County, AL, daughter of Clifford Walling and Patricia Gail Hill Walling. She and her husband, Cecil “Tony” Anthony West were married for over 28 years. She was a high school graduate, a member of Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church and worked as a convenience store cashier. Betty loved her sons and extended family. She enjoyed life and had a wonderful sense of humor. Her leisure time was spent by enjoying her time at home, visiting flea markets and following Alabama football.
Family members left behind to cherish their memories of Betty include her husband, Cecil “Tony” West; sons, Zachary “Zack” West and Jordan West (Delina); father, Clifford Walling; and brother, DeWayne Walling.
Preceding Betty in death is her mother, Gail Hill Walling, and sister, Brenda Gail Suit.
Betty’s family will receive friends and guest for a visitation time Wednesday evening 6:00 – 8:00 pm, October 2, 2024 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, Alabama. Betty will lie in state at Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service beings at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church Cemetery.
