Betty Jean Pilgrim Callahan, age 87 of Sheffield died Sunday, November 6, 2016.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday 1-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Robert Shirley officiating.
Betty was a native of Tuscumbia but lived in Sheffield most of her adult life and was a member of First Baptist Church, Sheffield. She was an avid Bridge player, loving mother and grandmother and a friend to many. She was known for her sense of humor and zest for life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ila Pilgrim and granddaughter, Ashley Callahan.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph William Callahan and wife Janice, David Wayne Callahan and wife Paige, daughters, Vicki Callahan Flower, Carol Callahan Cole and husband Carl, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Brentwood Assisted Living and the fourth floor nurses at Helen Keller Hospital.
