Betty Jean Phillips Meyers, 84, of Bolivar
Mrs. Meyers died early Thursday morning at her home in Bolivar.
She was born in Dyersburg, TN, the daughter of the late Jimmie Lee and Cora Lee Palmer Phillips. On August 9, 1949, she was married to Mr. George Emile Rogers in Hernando, MS.
Mrs. Meyers lived much of her life in New Orleans, LA, where she worked as a bookkeeper and telephone operator until her retirement. The Meyers’ moved to Bolivar in May, 1992.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, she leaves her son, Michael K. (Diana) Meyers of New Orleans, LA; five sisters, Sue Alford and Joyce Jones of Dyersburg, Anne Southerland and Jimmie Hearnsberger of Bolivar and Faye Thompson of Memphis; one brother, Bobby Phillips of Olive Branch, MS; and two grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer Holman) Meyers and Jennifer Meyers, all of New Orleans, LA.
