Betty Jean Jones, 71, died Friday at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born Sept. 5, 1944, in Limestone County, a registered nurse, and a member of Market Street church of Christ. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home with Kimberly Cole Upton officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service at Spry Funeral Home. The family requests donations be made to Milestone Recovery Ministries at 900 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640, where God gave Tina new life and Betty was forever grateful.
Survivors include daughter, Tina Marie Jones, of Hartselle; grandchildren, Dakota Rhea O’Rear, of Madison, and Bishop Brian Hust, of Hartselle; brothers, Ronald Lee Coggin and Jerry Wayne Coggin, both of Athens; sister, Patricia Coggin Orr, of Hartselle; many nieces and nephews; and by special friends, Gale Stewart and Ester Jernigan.
