Betty Jean (Isom) Hester 82, died November 28, 2012. Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 12-2PM at Morrison Funeral Home Tuscumbia, the funeral will follow at 2PM. Burial will be at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Frank Whitaker will officiate.
Mrs. Hester was a native of Franklin County but resided most of her life in Colbert County. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She was a retired Registered Nurse having worked at Helen Keller and Tri County Home Health.
Even though Alzheimer ’s disease along with a recent stroke took so much of her away from us, she continued to know each of her children as we visited her and continued to have her sweet gentle spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nathan Hester; her son, Fred Nathaniel Hester; her parents, Fred & Alma Isom; sisters, Nellie Porter, Ludie Wagnon, & Freddie Mae Malone.
She is survived by her sons, John Douglas (Rhonda) Hester, Cherokee, Al., Paul Daniel (Sheryl) Hester, Tuscumbia, AL; her daughters Sarah Nell (Jimmy) McKee, Tuscumbia, AL, Carol Jean (Frank) Whitaker, Cherokee, AL, Susan Marie (Adam) Karbaf, Half Moon Bay, California; brother, Fred Clayton (Bernice) Isom, Tuscumbia, Al; sister, Mildred Isom Helsley, Muscle Shoals, AL; 10 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren.
Pall bearers will be grandsons and great- grandsons.
We owe much gratitude to Dr. Josh Vacik, Pam Britnell CRNP, Green Oaks Inn Staff, Mitchell Hollingsworth Rehab, Southern Care Hospice, our family and friends.
