bettyBetty Jean Hamm, 74 of Athens, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Hamm was born October 27, 1941 in Helena, AL to Douglas and Virginia Gilbert Clayton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Wayne Clayton.

Mrs. Hamm is survived by her husband, Norman Hamm; sons, Jeff Hamm and wife Vickie, Joel Hamm and wife Sharma; grandchildren, Clayton Hamm and Ragan Hamm; sister, Louise Giovinco; brother, Roger Clayton and wife Brenda, and sister-in-law, Linda Clayton.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Hamm will be at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Gerome Hilliard officiating. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Betty was on the Board of Directors of Hospice, the Beautification Board, and she participated in Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was a member of the Gals Sunday School class. Betty was a faithful and devoted wife, a compassionate and affectionate mother, a precious sister, a caring and generous grandmother, and a loyal and supportive friend.
