Betty Jean Brackeen, 89 of Athens, Alabama, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, in her home. She was born on December 29th, 1933, to parents James W. Eaves and Virgia Hames.
Mrs. Brackeen is survived by her children Connie Shannon (Wade), Ronnie Brackeen (Teresa), Sherry Lannom (Jim), John Brackeen; grandchildren Bart Shannon (Jennifer), Bethany Gilliam (Jason), Daphne Edwards (Kyle), Loren Fielder (Craig), Matt Lannom (Haley), Lacy McCormick (D.J.); great-grandchildren Parker & Carter Shannon, Alyssa & Madison Gilliam, Brenna, Camden, Lucy, John & Molly Fielder, Ava, Corbin & Hallie Edwards, Levi, Lawson & Avery Lannom, Rayleigh McCormick; sisters Joyce Schrimsher and Sandra Swartz; brothers Dave Eaves and Bob Eaves.
She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Brackeen; parents Jim & Virgia Eaves; sisters Dorothy Allen, Linda Vining and Patricia Evans; and her brother Billy Eaves.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brackeen will be Friday, September 29th, 2023, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 11am. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28th, 2023, from 6pm to 9pm.
